Hi this has been posted a couple of other Topics. Here is a pretty decent world news site.
Since Montanabarb first posted it we feel this is a good place to get info on the Japanese nuclear leak
stuation.
You can select from several languages, box up at right corner of page.

In the Asia Board awhile ago, I had started Topic on Asian language media links.
This now has links to most of the Asian languages - for the NKH news site.

Does anyone think that the Japanese crisis is over--or even modified?  Far from it; it's just getting ramped up and gaining momentum.

http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2011-07-24/threat-to-japanese-food-chain-multiplies-as-cesium-contamination-spreads.html

It's a probability that radioactivity now affects the entire country of Japan, and many other areas which use Japanese food products.  I've stopped buying my favoritie Japanese green tea from Costco, and carefully scan labels for any indication that other food, especially seafood, is produced in Japan. I avoid it like poison. In mid-town Seattle (and I'm sure many other cities across the country) are big supermarkets whose entire inventory is food produced in Japan.

Another consideration, as if you don't have enough to worry about, radioactive fall-out (hot particles) will attach themselves to volcanic ash and travel around the world on a plume. They are inhaled into the lungs or swallowed with food or water. They are absorbed into the tissue, then burn their way through, creating scar tissue and cancer. It is not a pretty picture. Cesium particles like those found in the Japanese beef, have a half life of thirty years, meaning it takes thirty years for them to lose HALF of their potency.  It takes as long as three hundred years for them to completely decay and dissipate. And aside from Iodine, Cesium is the MILDEST of the radioactive elements released at Fukushima.
