Well you could say Far North Queensland had an interesting 24hrs... 400mm (16 inches) of rain was recorded in a gauge near Port Douglas, and that was over a 12 hour period!! And this is supposed to be our "dry" season?? Localized flooding occurred, but is clearing... Thank god. More rain forcasted for next week.

Normally this sort of heavy rain affects the area around feb/mar, not may.
