Vegetarians' sources of emergency food supplies
« on: August 14, 2010, 09:07:20 AM »
Hello to the vegetarians.
I just came across a few vegetarian meal items at COSTCO and decided to post vegetarian foods as its own Topic.
Note: I cannot personally guarantee that the foods called "vegetarian" are each item, completely vegetarian, but these probably are as they are presented.
Note the packaged meals I post will not necessarily all vegan some posts will have some dairy products or dried eggs etc. as non meat items too...
This item below works out to be 33 cents per seving, even if a person eats three times that, it seems like a good price.
All The Best,
Yowbarb

Yowbarb Note: This site has tips recipes and info of various kinds.
I used to shop at the original old Erewhon in L.A. back in the early 1970s  then many years alter when I came back to L.A. I saw
they had a big new store near the Beverly Center, West Hollywood.  Not sure yet if they have online ordering etc. will be back.
There is a lot of info here, anyway.

Anyone here every tried sfherb.com for dried veggies and fruits?

We have been using them for years and love them.

   Their dried veggies are great!

Yowbarb Note: Please check the Town Hall site ads first - the ones Marshall had put up there. Maybe what you need is here. This helps keep the site running.
That said, I will be posting food info from sites which sell vegetarian and vegan staples for emergencies.

Thanks Barbara, I am very fond of Quorn products, http://www.quorn.co.uk/ made from micro protein from mushrooms and the entire product range is not only vegetarian but lower in fat as well. They don't have it in South Africa, (which my fellow vegetarian sister, is missing terribly since that is what she lived on while she was here on holiday) so when i eventually go to SA i will have to stock up or import it, which might be a good thing as well as Vegetarianism is a growth industry in most countries nowadays, even in SA :o ;D.
