Internet Acronyms
« on: June 12, 2017, 04:24:01 PM »
It's time for this new topic, because periodically I inadvertently incorporate some of it in a post, not realizing not everyone is familiar with these things.

If you've ever been on a Linux board or forum, you'll probably know what I mean.  It can get so obtuse, in reading some of the posts, one is left wondering what is being said at times!

Here are a few-- most will recognize a few ot them:
BTW  By The Way
LOL --Laughing Out Loud
ROFLMAO -- Rolling On The Floor Laughing My Ass Off
FWIW  --For What It's Worth
IANAL -- I Am Not A Lawyer  (usually followed by "but".....)
BAU -- Business As Usual
TPTB -- The Powers That Be
TPTW  --The Powers That Were   (This is a greatly preferred term, as the previous one gives power to "them")
WYSIWYG -- What You See Is What You Get
TTYL --Talk To You Later

Please feel free to add to the list.
