Sinkholes in Charlotte, North Carolina
« on: September 09, 2010, 05:48:58 PM »
This today from http://www.wbtv.com/global/story.asp?s=13126988 :

"CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) - A sinkhole has forced the North Carolina Department of Transportation to close a major road in east Charlotte.  The NCDOT has closed the inside lanes in both directions on Monroe Road near the intersection of Wendover Road. "

No cause was stated for this one; usually the news story says "where a broken water pipe created a sinkhole" or something similar. (That quote from an earlier case in June of 2008.)  Or "due to a water main break" in February of 2010, or "A leaking water pipe" earlier in February 2010.  (All different locations)
