Since we are now in a members only area, I hope it is ok if I ask why this thread was moved to an unviewable area.

I am just curious. It is also relevant to this thread.

This is (not) a Member's Only area. This is a regular board. If you are reading Member's only it is the archive, newly created at the bottom of each board.
Hope this helps,

Maybe it's my computer but this section 'earth changes" is not visible unless I sign in.

Fatal pit bull attack, Logan Braatz
Logan Braatz
6-years old | Atlanta, Georgia
Logan Braatz, 6-years old, was brutally killed by up to three dogs while walking to a school bus stop with a group of children. The dogs, a pit bull, pit bull-mix and unidentified breed, also critically injured 5-year old Syrai Sanders -- the dogs severed her scalp from her skull. Both children were transported to Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta at Egleston. Logan was transferred to Grady Memorial Hospital's trauma unit, where he died. Aerial footage from a news chopper captured the horrific aftermath of the attack, showing clothing and other items strewn across the area of the attack. Multiple adult witnesses provided chilling accounts about what happened that morning. The owner of the two pit bulls suspected in the attack, Cameron Tucker, 31, was arrested and charged with two counts of misdemeanor reckless conduct, and later, one count of felony involuntary manslaughter. A judge later reduced the charges to misdemeanor manslaughter. [source citations]

Fatal dog attack, Skylar Dean Julius
Skylar Julius
2-months old | San Marcos, Texas
Skylar Julius, 2-months old, was killed by the family dog. Animal control impounded a German shepherd that was inside the home. On January 17, police and EMS were dispatched to a home on Sagewood Trail for a report of a baby with "numerous animal bites." The infant was transported to a local hospital, where she was pronounced dead. San Marcos Police Department Commander Kelly Earnest said the father told police he fell asleep while the baby was napping in an infant bouncer next to him on the couch. He woke up about 20 minutes later and found her cold to the touch, unresponsive and injured. The family had owned the male dog for more than 8-years and had raised the dog since it was a puppy, she said. The family said the dog did not have a history of aggression. San Marcos Police Department later stated in a news release, "there was not enough probable cause to obtain a warrant for blood tests on the father for drugs or alcohol. The father would not consent to testing for drugs or alcohol." [source citations]

Fatal dog attack, Louise Hermida
Louise Hermida
75-years old | New York, New York
Louise Hermida, 75-years old, died after being attacked by her own dog. She was mauled in the basement of her 27th Street home. The dog also bit her 39-year old autistic son, who managed to escape to a neighbor's home to get help. Police said she suffered "trauma to her upper torso." Hermida was transported to a local hospital where she was pronounced dead. Her family adopted the dog nearly 6-years earlier from Animal Care and Control when the dog was about a year old. The male dog, named Boss, was described as a mastiff-great dane mix. No photos were ever released of the dog. Two weeks before attacking its owner, Boss killed a small terrier in the neighborhood. Hermida had been planning to return the dog to the shelter because it was too aggressive and uncontrollable, but did not act soon enough. Family members said Hermida was trying to break up a fight between Boss and another dog when Boss attacked. Neighbors said the family kept up to ten dogs in the basement of their home. Child John Doe
5-years old | Clarksville, Tennessee
Child John Doe, 5-years old, was killed by his family's two English mastiffs. Emergency personnel responded to a home on Charles Thomas Road about 8:20 am. They discovered the boy with "extensive injuries" from being mauled by the two dogs. The child was transported to Tennova Medical Center where he died from his injuries. Both dogs were taken into custody by Montgomery County Animal Control. Police said both dogs were under a year old. Later news reports stated 6-months old. Montgomery County Animal Control released a photograph of the two dogs being held in quarantine. Clarksville Police Lt. Steve Warren said, "Our hearts certainly go out to that family, and to the first responders, it was a tough call for them too." Police opened an investigation into the dog attack. News footage of the home on Charles Thomas Road, a new subdivision, showed high fencing around the victim's backyard. As of March 2, 2017, no additional information, including the identity of the child, has been released. [source citations]

Jamie Owsley
21-years old | Quincy, Illinois
Jamie Owsley, 21-years old, died after being bitten in the neck by a family pit bull. The attack occurred at his home at 1005 1/2 Jersey Street in the early morning hours of February 26. The dog involved was one of three pit bulls belonging to his roommate and cousin Kerry Talburt II. Talburt told police around 3:00 am he heard some rustling in the living room, where Owsley slept, and heard his dog barking and growling. He got up and went to the living room. "He saw his pit bull, Hercules, had his mouth latched onto Owsley's neck. Talburt stated he grabbed the dog and pulled him off, took him into his bedroom, and put him in his kennel," states the Quincy police report. Forensic Pathologist Dr. Denton ruled his cause of death was "penetrating and crushing injuries of the neck, due to a dog attack." It is believed Owsley suffered a seizure before the attack. Owsley was a big fan of the Denver Broncos who sent out a tribute after learning about his death. "He's gone too soon and will be missed." [source citations]

Valentine Herrera, 76-years old, was savagely attacked by two pit bulls and died nearly one month later while hospitalized. The attack occurred on February 2, in the 2600 block of Lincoln Park Avenue. Herrera was walking his pomeranian, named Dodger, when the pit bulls escaped their property and attacked Dodger, killing him. When Herrera intervened, the pit bulls attacked him. The dogs knocked him to the ground and tore into his flesh. Herrera was rushed to LA County-USC Medical Center where he underwent brain surgery. Herrera remained in critical condition until he died on February 27. Neighbor Frank Carrasco, who witnessed the violent attack, said the owner of the pit bulls did not attempt to help the elderly man sprawled on the ground and bleeding after the attack. Several days before the attack, the same two pit bulls killed a neighborhood dog belonging to Stephanie Grezelle. Fatal dog attack, Jase Patrick Fohs
Jase Fohs
8-months old | Lusby, Maryland
Jase Patrick Fohs, 8-months old was savagely killed by a family pit bull while under the care of a babysitter at his home. On March 23, Calvert County Sheriff's deputies were dispatched at about 1pm to a home on Prancer Court for a report of a dog attack. They arrived within one minute of the initial call. When they reached the scene, they saw the dog actively attacking the baby. They open fired on the animal, killing it, but Jase was already dead. At a news conference the next day, Calvert County Sheriff Mike Evans said the dog was a pit bull, about 6 to 8 years old. The family had owned the dog since it was a puppy. The pit bull attacked the baby "out of the blue," the sheriff said. The dog weighed about 65 pounds and had no prior record of aggression, he said. The dog had also been around the infant its whole life. The babysitter, who is a family friend and neighbor, unsuccessfully tried to stop the violent attack. She was taken to the hospital with minor injuries, the sheriff said. No criminal charges will be filed. [source citations]

Fatal pit bull attack, Cecille Short
Cecille Short
82-years old | Oklahoma City, Oklahoma
Cecille Short, 82-years old, and her dog were slaughtered by two pit bulls while walking in a residential neighborhood. The attack occurred near the 11600 block of Windmill Road in northwest Oklahoma City. Police officers fired on both dogs, killing one, and rammed the other with a vehicle. One pit bull survived and was taken into custody where it will be held as evidence in the homicide investigation. Both dogs belong to a neighbor who lives about a block away. Animal control had received complaints about the dogs before. Neighbors had issued their own warnings about these dogs as well. After a photograph of the dogs emerged from social media, there was confusion over the breed of the large white dog, an XXL pit bull or American bully, both are designer pit bull breeds. Police believe the dogs escaped from a sizable hole in the owner's fence who was away at the time of the attack. On May 10, 2017, the owner of the dogs, Antwon Demetris Burks, 31, was charged with second-degree manslaughter. [source citations]

Fatal pit bull attack, Maurice Brown
Maurice Brown
60-years old | Dayton, Ohio
Maurice Brown, 60-years old, was brutally killed by a pit bull while walking down an alley. The dog had attacked a rodent before breaking loose from its chain and mauling Brown. Neighbors heard the man shouting at the top of his lungs, "Jesus, help me, help me" before his death. Officers shot and killed the pit bull that was actively attacking Brown. Three other pit bulls from 345 Middle Street were taken into custody. Brown was transported to Miami Valley Hospital where he was pronounced dead. A drone captured the scene in the alley after a fire crew did a wash down, which removes the bloody scene. The mauling area was extensive. Brown's death marks the third fatal dog attack in Dayton since 2014. After the first death of Klonda Richey, legislation was introduced to strengthen criminal penalties after vicious dog attacks. The Klonda Richey Act still has not passed both chambers. As of May 6, police have not determined who owned the pit bull the killed Brown. The address has a history of dog violations. Fatal dog attack, Lisa Green
Lisa Green
32-years old | Breinigsville, Pennsylvania
Lisa Green, 32-years old, was savagely killed by her pit bull-mix on the rear deck of her home on Spring White Drive. Neighbors rushed over and saw the dog tearing at her neck. "The dog started biting on her neck, started removing pieces from her neck," Vidya Chellapilla said. Another neighbor threw a hambone at the dog. But the dog does not take it. "He's so engrossed in attacking her," Loretta Ottinger said. Next she jabbed the dog in the eyes with a narrow board, but the dog grabbed it in its jaws and broke it. Then another neighbor came to the scene, off-duty Slatington police Chief David Rachman. The dog "flipped her head up, grabbed her by the throat and then thrashed around," he said. Rachman fired on the dog, ending the mauling. Two years earlier, the dog attacked a neighbor's husky, Rachman said. An unidentified man told WFMZ the same dog bit his grandson in the face a few years ago. Green had the 3.5-year old dog, named Leon, for about two-and-a-half years, according to Ottinger. Fatal pit bull attack, Kamiko Dao Tsuda-Saelee
Kamiko Dao Tsuda-Saelee
6-months old | Las Vegas, Nevada
Kamiko Dao Tsuda-Saelee, 6-months old, was brutally mauled to death by her family's pit bull. The attack occurred at the baby's home in the 9100 block of West Brilliant Prairie Court. Kamiko had been playing in a baby walker near the dog when the animal suddenly attacked her, investigators determined. The baby's mother, Layla Tsuda, had stepped away to the bathroom. When she returned the dog was biting the infant's head. Tsuda was able to stop the attack, but Kamiko had already suffered significant injuries, according to police spokeswoman Laura Meltzer. The baby was transported to Centennial Hills Hospital Medical Center where she was pronounced dead. The coroner said the baby died of multiple blunt force injuries to the head. The male pit bull, named Mana, had been with the family for nine years, family members said. The family said they were blindsided by the attack -- the dog had never bitten anyone before. Clark County Animal Control euthanized the pit bull shortly after the deadly attack. [source citations]

Fatal dog attack, Sandra Keiser
Sandra Keiser
71-years old | Redding, Connecticut
Sandra Keiser, 71-year old, died after being attacked by her own dog. The attack occurred at her home on Deacon Abbott Road around 10:30 pm on May 12, according to Redding Police Chief Doug Fuchs. She suffered "very serious injuries," he said. She was transported to Danbury Hospital, where she later died. In a strangely worded narrative, Fuchs said the dog attack set off a "series of events" which led to Kaiser's death. Fuchs described the dog as a "mixed-breed" and "rescue" dog, but was "not a pit bull." The dog had been living at Kaiser's home for six years. Fuchs did not identify the shelter or rescue group that adopted out the dog, nor was a photograph provided of the dog. No preliminary autopsy results were released. As of June 9, 2017, autopsy results remain pending. Dog attacks that cause "severe injuries" and the person dies as a direct or related result (dog bites a contributing factor) are included in DogsBite.org statistical data -- the underlying cause of death is not restricted to "dog bites."
