Rocky Exoplanet confirmed very close to our solar system
« on: July 31, 2015, 12:55:16 PM »
In this AM's video from Suspicious0bservers he presented an artist's rendering of this rocky exoplanet and the link for a video about it:

Where is Earth's nearest rocky planet neighbor?
The closest rocky exoplanet confirmed outside our solar system is located just off the "W" pattern of the Cassiopeia constellation. The planet lies 21 light-years away and can't be seen directly, but its star is visible to the naked eye. Related release:

The video ends with an artist's imagining of the planet crossing in front of, or transiting its star, which is named HD 219134

I don't see how they can say the exoplanet is near our solar system...

If that was 22 AUs, yes but it is 21 light years. So maybe this story is not so important to us here on this forum, although this is interesting.  ;D
