India's Stray Dogs Are Turning Blue Because of Pollution
By Sean Breslin16 hours agoweather.com

00:37 Dogs Spotted in India Have Blue Fur
Several dogs captured on video in India have blue fur, which an animal welfare group says is caused by pollution in a river the dogs swam in.
Several stray dogs have been spotted in Mumbai with their fur dyed bright blue, and animal protection groups blamed water pollution for the bizarre sight.

One India said at least five dogs were seen on video walking around with blue fur, which is believed to have occurred after they swam in the polluted Kasadi River. They were turned blue by industrial dye released into the waterway from the Taloja Industrial area, home to hundreds of pharmaceutical, food and engineering factories, the report added.

A complaint has been filed, and the state's pollution control board said it has opened an investigation.

"It was shocking to see how the dog's white fur had turned completely blue," animal protection officer Arati Chauhan told Metro UK.
