here is an interesting review i found on amazon:

http://www.amazon.com/120-Serving-Supply-Disaster-Emergency/product-reviews/B00536BGPE/ref=dp_top_cm_cr_acr_txt?ie=UTF8&showViewpoints=1

It's true that freeze-dried food takes up much less space and is better quality and more convenient than cans and more highly processed foods, but be sure to take stock of the ingredients that are in it, such as MSG and GMO ingredients.

I've been researching this topic to find the best storable food options, and while I do think freeze-dried is the way to go, it's difficult to find a company that doesn't add harmful additives into the food. The only one I've found so far is efoodsglobal. They are also offering free samples (12 servings) so you can try them yourself before making a big order: freesamples. efoodsglobal. com

you're most welcome!
my focus this week has been on food for storage - here is the URL for wise food storage, they *seem* like a reputable company and have a decent selection of items.
http://wisefoodchoice.com/

here is the URL for nutritional facts of some of their prepared food:
http://wisefoodchoice.com/nutrition
i've noticed the main entrees are high in sodium.  but if that's all you're going to eat, or eat ONE of those meals plus something fresh/home grown per day, then i think that would be an o.k. balance.

they even have a 2012 blurb under the "why wise?" tab... but not without a pretty disturbing graphic at the bottom of the page.  :(
