The Earth is Our Mother

this is a song that was sung to us by a lovely native american man, in my 5th grade class.  we participated by drumming along.  the song crosses my mind quite often and i finally thought to google/youtube search it today.  it's quite inspiring.  enjoy and be well:

it did, and i really appreciate the simplicity and authenticity of it.  it's a beautiful song.
my old stomping grounds are in burlingame - lincoln elementary school.  go lions!  ;D

haha - no, i wasn't around in the 60's - seems like it was a particularly enlightening period of time... jack kerouac stories will have to suffice!

It is about Atabey (Mother Earth)-- Atabey is usually depicted heavy with child, as you can see in the images posted below, the circle within her belly is the Earth itself...
