Very large crater opens up in Central America

This is pretty amazing, I couldn't get the picture to post so you have to click on the link. I couldn't believe how big this is.

How can a mire Tropical Storm cause this? Yes the storms have lots of rain, but this actually looks like an old volcano that they built the street over. :o :o

The hole from 2007 was 330' what is the size of the new one?

It looks like a large bored hole, like it was done with machinery. That's how it struck me, because the hole narrows down completely smooth. The pic is a aerial view, I just wonder if there were old caverns or buildings underground from ancient civilizations and the weight of the current buildings along with the shifting grounds eventually opened it up. Just my opinion, or a thought on the subject.

Tuesday, the Associated Press was able to take a video of the massive sinkhole that swallowed a three-story building Monday in Guatemala; the sinkhole has captured the world
