Sioux cite rites, religious freedom to prevent oil flow
Dakota Access conduit could come on line as soon as March 6

Citing religious rites and the dark prophecy of a “terrible black snake” that will bring harm to its people, a Sioux Indian tribe returned to court Tuesday in an eleventh-hour push to keep the Dakota Access pipeline from carrying its first crude oil.

@ around 30:45, narrator makes the remark that Native Americans have already begun moving into their caves as part of their historic survival strategy.

Does anyone have more information about which tribes are exiting at this time, and about how they plan to live in the caves (how deep they go down, etc.)?

Am aware that the Havasupai have occupied the Grand Canyon for centuries.

Here is a historic Anasazi cave:

Thanks for this post.  Will watch later, but am very hopeful that it is true about their moving to the caves, or at least getting their temporary cave homes ready.  I had read somewhere years ago that some Native peoples in parts of South American have alternate cave quarters they can move to if necessary and that they rarely reveal anything about it/them to any outsiders.  Good!
