Ilinda's very informative link expires tonight, so am posting a few screenshots summarizing the info, below.

Will add this first:

Most menopausal women probably already know that the natural progesterone in wild yam (dioscorea) is generally regarded as safe to take.  They may not know about plant based estrogen though, which is entirely different from other estrogen sources in HRT that are regarded as being unsafe to take.

The three forms of estrogen:

Estriol: plant based, generally regarded as safe, available OTC as lotion or transdermal drops

Estrone: estrogen extracted from the urine of mares

Estradiol: synthetic estrogen analog not regarded as being safe.

And regarding fertility issues, one can also:

1. Get a Catholic book on rhythm, regardless of one's religious orientation, to learn that culture's millennia-old understanding of how the fertility cycle works, and do the opposite of the birth control advice.

2. Stop using lotion, which usually contains alcohol and other chemicals that are detrimental to sperm.  Plant-based oils may be fine.

3. Be aware of which direction the uterus tilts, and select a position conducive to allowing sperm to burrow in, even if pillows are needed.  It's also helpful to remain lying in place an hour afterward.

4. Learn to feel the ovulation cramp each month for a better understanding of one's exact ovulation timetable, as it differs for each person.

5. Time intercourse for a day or two ahead of the expected ovulation date, rather than too close to time, so sperm can be in place before the egg is shed.

Because so many states in the U.S., and some other countries, are decriminalizing the "Sacred Plant" (Medical Marijuana) now for use in medical issues, it is probably OK to post this.

The following screen shots were taken from one of the episodes on The Sacred Plant.  These shots were only on screen for a second or two, so I had to back up several times before pausing it at the right spot.  Am posting two shots, as one of them shows the title, whereas the other shows more of what would be seen as one scrolls down.  There is much more than is shown, but that's all that was shown to the audience.

It is obvious that there are many aspects to this plant, and many macromolecules contained therein, plus many uses for them.  But as one researcher has said, it is still better, where possible, to use the whole plant, as you get the "entourage effect" by using the whole plant.

Here's what the PFAF database has to add:

Quote
Edible Uses

Edible Parts: Leaves;  Oil;  Seed.
Edible Uses: Oil.

Seed - raw or cooked. It can be parched and eaten as a condiment or made into cakes and fried[2, 85, 177, 183]. The seed is quite tasty, but it is very difficult to separate from the husk. We have tried grinding the seed, husk and all, and eating it this way, but it does then have a very gritty texture[K]. The seed contains about 27.1% protein, 25.6% fat, 7.4% carbohydrate, 6.1% ash[179]. A nutritional analysis is available calculated on a zero moisture basis[218]. A highly nutritious edible oil, rich in essential fatty acids, is obtained from the seed[105, 183]. Leaves. Used in soups[269]. The leaves contain 0.215% carotene[179].

No wonder TPTB wanted it to remain illegal for so long.

natural turpentine oil
Been researching turpentine; many sources point to this interview with Dr. Jennifer Daniels at Extreme Health Radio.
What was so important about this interview for me was that i learned that the dose of turpentine i had tried was too low.
I link above to when (in this interview) Dr. Daniels explains that the dose is one whole tea spoon of turpentine dissolved in three sugar cubes [so one ingests 3 cubes full of turpentine]. This was about four whole droppers full for the small bottle i have, whereas i had tried it two or three times before using only one sugar cube full. Apparently that dose is just too low to accomplish anything. [Indeed, the maximum dose would be three whole tea spoons and 6 starts getting really dangerous. But, quite frankly, i doubt many people ever tried so much since the taste is quite strong and quite bad.]

Also in this interview Dr. Daniels explains that turpentine will cure countless ailments and that selling it as a cure for candida was simply a marketing issue.
Anyway, am going to be trying this later today. [Right now i'm getting ready for a mini beet protocol and i'll take the cubes before i go to bed because i'm going to do an enema tomorrow morning since Dr. Daniels warns that parasites will be expelled and one should only do this protocol if one has three bowel movements a day.]

Products which contain plant sterols, stanols help reduce the bad cholesterol and the high triglycerides...

There are several products on the market. Plant sterols, niacin, cayenne. Some contain an ayurvedic ingredient or two, Indian Gooseberry, and Guggul... Care needs to be taken if using Indian Gooseberry.... google it, more on it later.

I am choosing a product which has niacin, garlic, cayenne, 400 mg of a plant sterol complex and that's it. has high user reviews. Nearly 5, out of 1-5 ratings.

The NIH - National Institute of Health has articles about natural ways to reduce cholesterol and high triglycerides without statin drugs.  I may start a separate topic on this. - Barb T.
