Hopefully, this is not a redundant post, I know we discussed Cilantro and Miso to protect ourselves/detox from radiation, but I've found more and I strive to add these to my diet, at least some daily...

19 Foods to Naturally Detox Radiation
Ginger is one of many foods that offers protection against radiation

With radioactive isotopes detected in rainwater in Minnesota and other states, some people are looking into iodine supplements and other ways to protect the long-term health of their families.

While there are a lot of drawbacks to using iodine, there are plenty of foods that naturally protect our bodies from radiation.

Here's 19 of the best:
1.   Brown rice
2.   Seaweed
3.   Kelp
4.   Miso
5.   Pumpkin
6.   Spirulina
7.   Bee pollen
8.   Wheat grass
9.   Rosemary
10.   Blue-green algae

These foods protect the body from radiation in different ways. For instance, brown rice is high in fiber and phosphorous, which help remove harmful toxins from the body. Sea vegetables contain a polysaccharide that binds to radioactive strontium to help eliminate it from the body, as well as being high in natural iodine. Pectin has also been shown to bind to radioactive residues, and Cysteine (in onions) binds with and deactivates radioactive isotopes. Alfalfa sprouts and greens are high in chlorophyll, which has been shown to help protect against radiation damage, as well.

Keep in mind that you should aim for organic and be aware of the sources. For example, fresh sprouted alfalfa sprouts from your windowsill are preferable to those shipped from thousands of miles away (and possibly doused with those isotopes).

The terrible tragedies in Japan – earthquake, tsunami, danger from the release of radiation – are heartbreaking.  I’m wondering what precautions can safeguard health if the radiation travels beyond Japan.

Narrator recommends taking chlorophyll to detox the incoming new radiation that we are being bombarded with (ultraviolet C), as well as higher background gamma radiation.  He feels that people and animals are dropping dead suddenly from overexposure to these energies while working and playing outdoors due to cardiac interference, and that it is preventable.

For those who can't digest the algaes recommended in the above list, there is minted liquid chlorophyll that is taken by the teaspoon stirred in a glass of water, or by eyedropper.   Take 3x daily.  Green stools are a sign that you are effectively protected.

Pure chlorophyll is chemically identical to the heme in hemoglobin, except that instead of an iron molecule in the center, there is a magnesium molecule.  That is the only difference between chlorophyll in plants and the blood in your body.  In synthesized chlorophyllin there is a copper molecule instead which is more bio-available than elemental copper, making it easier to digest than straight chlorophyll. 

In addition to chlorophyll products directly consuming radiation, they also speed up tissue repair.

It sounds good in theory, but am thinking that dark green leafy veggies (greens) would still be an excellent detox.  The narrator said that the green plants are harder to digest, with the magnesium-containing chlorophyll, but he offered no proof.

Looking at the bigger picture of our own evolution, we would not be here if we and greens were not compatible.  Humans, and other animals, have been ingesting "greens" for eons, and doing so successfully.

So, the product he is pitching could be a wonderful and superior product, but it has to be bought, and the consumer has to assume the claims are true.  Some years ago I did try "Chlorella", a highly-touted algae product supposedly an almost cure-all for many issues, but each time I took one tablet, I ended up with intense sinusitis.  Made me wonder exactly what was in it.  I even thought of the movie Soylent Green.  Yikes.

Chlorella is a completely different substance, which I definitely cannot digest.

Thanks for posting the Smart Meter warning video link.  Am bearing in mind that you had moved yours to the barn or shed, and may do the same here.

Most greens we eat are steamed, and the juice discarded, for the very reason you mention.  Beet greens, Lamb's Quarters, Collards, etc.

I hear both stories, i.e., that greens are better raw and juiced, as you get more out of them, but also hear that some greens, if eaten raw, will inhibit the thyroid, and could cause a temporary hypothyroidism if enough are eaten.  One doctor told me you'd have to eat tons of raw greens for them to cause thyroid problems, but is that true?

Still don't have the answers, so continue to steam greens.

Do you steam them just very lightly til wilted?  I do like certain greens in stir-fry, too.

The collards need to be steamed for a longer time period, but beet greens and Lamb's Quarters seem to need the barest minimum time.  When they turn dark, dark green, and suddenly are soft looking, which is often just seconds, they are ready. 

Sometimes with beet greens and Lamb's Quarters, I boil water and put them in, and within seconds, they have turned very dark green and are ready.    I'm not sure if it's even a minute.

ilinda, I agree, for safety sake, best to steam the greens.
I have read a couple things about greens and oxylates. Drinking kale drinks raw, day after day can cause problems...
Butter is good for the intestines and a good food, believe that was both Adelle Davis and Hulda Regeher Clark who said that. They recommended serving with butter and salt and any way you can make them as tasty as possible.

Many years ago I used to go to a German-born naturopath. He said I need to put a bit of chlorophyll in my water and have that a few times a day.
