Northern California earthquakes and preparedness
« on: April 28, 2010, 05:58:55 PM »
Any northern California Members here ?
How do you feel, safe - or a little uneasy about the possiblility of an earthquake up there?
I have lived in northern CA (SF and Oakland) and Oregon and  Washington - loved it. Born in Portland OR.
Not there now...no family there. I do like to be farther north (than where I am in Florida)
and will relocate to central northern US away from seacoasts.
Town Hall hadn't been paying proper attention to that northern California area.
Most of the posts have been Los Angeles, all of southern CA and Baja.
The world in general. (Gaia's Growing Pains, Earthquakes Topics.)
Today there were small quakes in Alaska, Oregon, southern California, the southwest -
as well as northern California.
(Wyoming area near Yellowstone acting up somewhat.)
Right now the midwest and the New Madrid seem quiet.
Well, post here your concerns about northern California - your basic plans.
All The Best,
Yowbarb

There have been dozens of microquakes in northern California the past 6-7 days.
Some in the past hour... from Santa Maria on up toward the Oregon border.
I'm not totally sure this is an increase in number -it looks like it. More later...
