Barb Note, these are excerpts from two articles about B5, pantothenic acid:

WHAT IS PANTOTHENIC ACID AND HOW CAN IT HELP MORGELLONS PATIENTS?

...Pantothenic acid is also crucial for the healthy growth and maintenance of skin and hair. Panthenol or pro-vitamin B5 is a compound made from pantothenic acid, and it has a broad range of cosmetic applications. It serves as an important ingredient in a lot of skin and hair products due to its anti-inflammatory, antioxidant and hydrating properties.

Can Pantothenic Acid Treat Morgellons Disease?
Your adrenal glands require pantothenic acid in order to be able to produce some essential hormones, such as cortisol. Vitamin B5 also has an antioxidant effect and helps reduce inflammation in the body, together with bioflavonoids, vitamin C and healthy omega fats.

Moreover, pantothenic acid plays a vital role in the process of building up and breaking down fats, carbohydrates and proteins in all tissues. It helps release energy from food and contributes to the production of disease-fighting antibodies. However, it requires vitamins A, B3, B6, B9 and B12 in order to function properly.

Pantothenic acid can support the skin’s ability to regenerate. Research has shown that it can aid the healing of wounds and sores by boosting collagen production and reducing inflammation. So it’s easy to see a potentially beneficial link between pantothenic acid and Morgellons disease – patients may benefit from taking dietary supplements containing pantothenic acid. If the slow-healing sores are caused by bacteria, these supplements can complement the use of antibiotics in the treatment of the infection. Due to its anti-inflammatory effect, the vitamin may also help in the management of the autoimmune symptoms of Lyme disease.

MakeWell is one of few manufacturers of nutritional supplements covering Morgellons disease and specifically, wound healing. The product MRG derm combines extracts from black cumin, gotu kola and pantothenic acid to support wound healing in Morgellons patients. It may also be combined with other anti-parasitic remedies to tackle Morgellons disease.

Vitamin B5 (pantothenic acid) is available in a variety of foods, usually present as coenzyme A (CoA) or phosphopantetheine (20). Liver and kidney, yeast, egg yolk, broccoli, peanuts, fish, shellfish, chicken, milk, yogurt, legumes, mushrooms, avocado, and sweet potatoes are good sources of vitamin B5 (20, 21).May 29, 2017

VITAMIN B5 // PANTOTHENIC ACID
Sources of Vitamin B5
Vitamin B5 (pantothenic acid) is available in a variety of foods, usually present as coenzyme A (CoA) or phosphopantetheine (20). Liver and kidney, yeast, egg yolk, broccoli, peanuts, fish, shellfish, chicken, milk, yogurt, legumes, mushrooms, avocado, and sweet potatoes are good sources of vitamin B5 (20, 21).

Whole grains are major sources of pantothenic acid, but processing and refining grains may result in a 35% to 75% loss (21). Freezing and canning of foods result in similar losses (12).

Some vitamin B5 is synthesized by the intestinal bacteria that normally colonize the human colon (‘large intestine’).  The uptake of biotin and pantothenic acid in cultured colon cells by a specialized transporter suggests that humans may be able to absorb intestinal produced pantothenic acid and biotin. However, it is not yet known to which extent bacterial synthesis contributes to pantothenic acid intake in humans  (16, 34).

Supplements commonly contain pantothenol, a more stable alcohol derivative, which is rapidly converted to pantothenic acid by humans. Calcium and sodium D-pantothenate, the calcium and sodium salts of pantothenic acid, are also available as supplements (4, 21). Pantethine, a disulfid derivate of pantothenic acid, is applied as cholesterol-lowering agent in Japan and as dietary supplement in the US (21).

Yowbarb Note: Makewell is a website originating in Germany. This article discusses foods and also again, the link between lyme and morgellons...but the main emphasis is what can you add to the diet which will help. The article acknowledges not everyone can tolerate the mik, tomatoes, or even the legumes. Positive for lyme, means may not be able to consume legumes. (assume they mean digestive situations, not sure.) Article also has some other ideas for Morgellons and supplements sold on the site - "the MRG derm product, for example, contains black cumin, centella asiatica extract and pantothenic acid to improve and quicken skin healing."

What an interesting group of articles, especially the one about aloe vera.  From reading in your post on January 8, one could easily claim that Aloe vera has as many medical and health functions as does the Cannabis plant.  Wonderful to know and all the more reason to grow and propagate Aloe.

One book on iodine I read has a list of ailments that might be related to iodine deficiency, which is not all that easy to diagnose.  On the list was eczema.

Could very well be.  Iodine, and the abstinence from its halide competitors in processed foods, is responsible for so many other functions in the body than protecting the thyroid.

Congrats, BTW.  Do you think once you freed your immune system from dealing with the parasites, then it could better concentrate on clearing up skin inflammation, etc.?

Yes.  And also, more nutrition getting to the cells everywhere.  It is interesting that the symptoms of parasites is nearly identical to the symptoms of pre-diabetes.  I am guessing that the basic cause is the same; lack of nutrition to the cells.
