Astronomical odds? Meteor strikes moon during 'Super Wolf Blood Moon' eclipse

https://www.sott.net/article/405553-Astronomical-odds-Meteor-strikes-moon-during-Super-Wolf-Blood-Moon-eclipse

Observers of yesterday's lunar eclipse were blessed with the first known sighting of a meteorite impact during such an event.

The so-called "super wolf blood moon" was eagerly watched by millions of people around the world, mostly via live streaming video. During the eclipse, some people noticed a tiny flash, a brief yellow-white speck, popping up on the lunar surface during the online broadcasts.

One Reddit user raised the possibility that this was a meteorite impact and others scoured eclipse footage for evidence of the event. A flash is visible in at least three different videos.

Jose Maria Madiedo at the University of Huelva in Spain has confirmed that the impact is genuine. For years, he and his colleagues have been hoping to observe a meteorite impact on the moon during a lunar eclipse, but the brightness of these events can make that very difficult - lunar meteorite impacts have been filmed before, but not during an eclips

Meteor EXPLODES, shatters windows in Pinar del Río, Cuba - after streaking over Florida Keys  ??? ???

https://www.sott.net/article/406310-Meteor-EXPLODES-shatters-windows-in-Pinar-del-Rio-Cuba-after-streaking-over-Florida-Keys

"I just heard a strange explosion... it vibrated super strong," Flavia Sahira, a resident of Vinales, wrote on Facebook. "Does anybody know what it was?"

Only in Cuba does an apparent meteorite crash and you happen to know the person who’s house was hit??

Amazing meteor fireball over the Mediterranean Sea on 6th Feb

https://www.sott.net/article/406645-Amazing-meteor-fireball-over-the-Mediterranean-Sea-on-6th-Feb

This stunning meteor was recorded over the Mediterranean Sea on 2019 February 6 at 1:33 local time (equivalent to 0:33 universal time). It was generated by a rock from an asteroid that hit the atmosphere at about 72,000 km/h. It began over at an altitude of about116 km over the sea, and ended at a height of around 58 km. The event was brighter than the Full Moon.

The event was recorded in the framework of the SMART project (University of Huelva), operated by the Southwestern Europe Meteor Network (SWEMN), from the meteor-observing stations located at La Hita (Toledo), Calar Alto (Almeria), La Sagra (Granada), Sierra Nevada (Granada) and Sevilla.

SEE Comet C/2018 Y1 Iwamoto   Taken by michael jäger on February 7, 2019 @ Jauerling Austria

http://spaceweathergallery.com/indiv_upload.php?upload_id=151778

http://www.spaceweather.com/

A VISITOR FROM BEYOND THE KUIPER BELT: On Feb. 12th and 13th, Comet Iwamoto (C/2018 Y1) will make a rare visit to the inner solar system, passing by our planet only 0.3 AU (45 million km) away. Last night in Jauerling, Austria, amateur astronomer Michael Jäger photographed the green comet approaching in the constellation Virgo:

Discovered in Dec. 2018 by Japanese amateur astronomer Masayuki Iwamoto, this comet is a visitor from beyond the Kuiper Belt. It comes from the realm of Extreme Trans-Neptunian Objects (ETNOs) more than 5 times as far from the sun as Pluto. This means it could be a relative of other strange ETNOs such as Sedna, 2012 VP113 ("Biden"), and 2015 TG387 ("Goblin").
Comet Iwamoto has a highly elliptical 1371-year orbit, so it doesn't visit us very often. Its last passage through the inner solar system was around 648 AD (unrecorded), and its next won't happen until 3390 AD. Therefore, if you want to see the comet, now is the time to look.

Shining with an astronomical magnitude of +6.5, the comet is invisible to the unaided eye. Nevertheless, it will be an easy target for backyard telescopes in the nights ahead as it glides through the constellation Leo the Lion high in the midnight sky. If you have a GOTO telescope, use this ephemeris to point your optics--and submit your images here.

Scary Stuff!

"Meteor" Strike -- Venezuela -- or

https://halturnerradioshow.com/index.php/en/news-page/world/meteor-strike-venezuela-except-it-does-a-u-turn-in-flight

There has been a "Meteor" strike in -- of all places -- Venezuela. Video shows the "Meteor" did a hair-pin U-Turn before impacting. Explosions and fires are confirmed. Was this an ICBM warning to Maduro?

Hundreds of reports and dozens of videos are coming in from social media showing a flaming object plummeting to earth with a blazing tail of fire . . . .

At the site of impact, there are fires, with numerous reports of a gigantic "explosion" sound when it took place:

News media in Venezuela is covering the event:

Here's where things get weird.  The same news media in Venezuela is ALSO showing video which shows an object in the sky, with a flaming tail, MAKING A U-TURN . . .

I am not certain this media outlet is credible, but I provide THEIR posting for your consideration:

Video from the impact site shows a series of fires and what APPEARS to be a significant impact trail in the ground:

The trajectory, size, speed, and color is the same, with the tails looking different on the Russian re-entry because the sun was able to backlight it all.

Some folks are saying we're looking at an ICBM hitting Venezuela.

Who did it? GUESS.

And folks are also saying it was a probable warning shot.  It hit in a harmless location in the middle of a populated area, right when there's trouble in Venezuela.

MESSAGE: STEP DOWN MADURO OR WE WILL NAIL YOU, YOU CANNOT ESCAPE THIS.

Here is another social media video from Venezuela and in it, you can clearly see a different color "explosion" lighting up the sky when it hits:

Finally, about the fiery aftermath on the ground as shown in the video above . . . meteorites generally don't make it to the ground.  They GENERALLY explode in mid-air.   It is extremely rare that a meteorite hits the ground, nevermind hit and cause a crater and surrounding fire.

Mysterious fireball spotted over Cornwall, UK

https://www.sott.net/article/407398-Mysterious-fireball-spotted-over-Cornwall-UK

It was described as big and very bright with red flames coming from it

A large and mysterious fireball with 'lots of flames coming from it' was spotted in the skies over Cornwall.

According to reports, the unidentified object looked like a meteor and was really slow and big.

It was reported over Crackington Haven at about 10.30pm and the Kernow Weather Team (KWT) received another report of the sighting over West Cornwall at about 10.15pm.

The KWT took to their Facebook page to appeal for more information.

Its post reads: "Strange sighting over West Cornwall, February 14, 2019, 10.15pm ish.

"We have tonight, had a report of one of our followers seeing what can only be described as a large meteor or fireball, lots of flames coming from it.

"If you saw this or even better, captured an image, get in touch we would love to hear more about what you have seen."

Tony Bowden, who reported the body to the KWT, explained in the comments: "What I saw wasn't green, and it was in the atmosphere, and coming down with red flames from it. Possibly a small section of the comet broke off."

Several social media users replied that they did see the phenomenon.

Annette Knight commented: "Yes, yes I saw it. Just happened to look out of the window and saw it coming down. Really slow and big."

Sarah Myford added: "I did see something odd in the east last night around 10.30 pm (ish) driving back through Slaughterbridge near Delabole, I thought it was a firework, but it might not have been."

Jenna Rose Tregurtha wrote: "I saw it in Crowlas looking towards St Michael's Mount... Very bright and it was thicker than your ordinary shooting star."

Linsey Shenton commented: "I am south east Cornwall and I saw one last night whilst outside with the dogs never seen anything like it before."

Bright green METEOR FIREBALL disintegrates in LOUD RUMBLE over Florida night sky

http://strangesounds.org/2019/02/florida-fireball-videos.html

A number of Space Coast residents from Titusville to Palm Bay took to social media to describe seeing an apparent meteor streak across the skies Tuesday morning, creating an otherworldly burst of green as it passed over… AND A LOUD RUMBLE!

The meteor that streaked across the skies of Central Florida on Tuesday, 12th February, was a “large fireball” that likely exploded over the Atlantic Ocean with the energy of a tenth of a kiloton — or the explosive force equal to that of 100 tons of TNT.

On Feb. 1st, a daytime meteor fireball passed over the Florida Keys – and was picked up on weather radar – before slamming into an area in western Cuba, shattering windows and rattling residents.

Good summary on this weeks Zeta Talk about all the recent meteor active (and how they are trying to cover it up)..

http://zetatalk.com/newsletr/issue652.htm
Bolide Blitz

The debris and minor moons in the tail of Nibiru is very evident lately, as bolides and fireballs screaming through the sky are seen around the world and with increasing frequency. The establishment has sought to suppress awareness of this, at first claiming it was merely space junk returning to Earth, often trying to ascribe them to regular meteor showers even though the timing was off. Then where formerly reported in the major media, the reports only showed up in the local press.

Did You See It? Fireball Lights up Night Sky of New York
March 19, 2019
https://www.nbcnewyork.com/news/local/Fireball-Lights-Up-Night-Sky-New-York
A fireball illuminated the night sky over a New York airport — and according to the American Meteor Society, dozens reported the astral sight. The organization received 87 reports about this fireball which was apparently seen over the Northeast, including Connecticut, New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania.

A Meteor? Glowing Object Filmed Falling in Siberian Sky

Meteorite Soars through the Sky over Venezuela, starts Fire on Landing
February 10, 2019
https://sputniknews.com/latam/201902101072283836-meteorite-caracas-space-fire/
Netizens took to Twitter after what it seems to be a bright meteorite soared through the sky over Venezuela and could be seen over Valencia, Victoria and Caracas.

But these bolides did eventually get in the news when one exploded upon entry near the Bering Straits on December 18, 2019 with the force of 10 Hiroshima bombs. Though this news was suppressed at first by NASA, the data was finally released to the scientific community. But if this bolide was big, Chelyabinsk was larger.

A 1,500 Ton Meteor Exploded over Earth with 10 Times the Energy Released by the Hiroshima Bomb
March 18, 2019
https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencetech/article-6821883/A-1-500-TON-meteor
Incredible images reveal a meteor that exploded in the Earth's atmosphere in December with ten times the force of the Hiroshima bomb - yet no one detected it. It was detected by military satellites which automatically informed NASA, but scientists outside these organisations have only recently assessed the data.

A Meteor Exploded over Earth with the Force of 10 Nuclear Bombs, and Nobody Noticed for 3 Months
March 18, 2019
https://www.thisisinsider.com/meteor-exploded-over-earth-nobody-noticed
Meteors this large are rare, and tend to come only two or three times every 100 years. The blast, which occurred on December 18, was one of the largest of its kind in the last 30 years, second only to the meteor that exploded over Chelyabinsk, Russia, six years ago. It had about 40% of the energy release of Chelyabinsk. The 2013 fireball was the size of a six-story building and injured about 1,200 people with its impact.

ZetaTalk Statement 3/31/2019: The alarm over this meteor explosion is due to the approach, and even the impact, not being noticed for weeks. Chelyabinsk was noticed and quickly disabled by alert Russians, who shot it down, shattering the Chelyabinsk bolide. President Trump has recently ushered in the new US Space Force, and with good reason. Where the official explanation included protecting satellites and US interests from space junk, the covert reason was to provide an early warning system for the approach of major debris in the wafting tail of Nibiru, and a space based way to shatter this debris.

ZetaTalk Prediction 2/16/2013: Clearly not an asteroid, the Chelyabinsk meteor came from the direction of the Sun, where Planet X, aka Nibiru, is wafting its vast debris ridden tail. This meteor event is not the first nor will it be the last during this passage. Does the Chelyabinsk meteor usher in a new era of larger and more devastating fireballs descending upon the Earth? Without a question, and all will be coming from the direction of the Sun.

Should anyone doubt that this debris in the tail of Nibiru is upon us, just look at Alberto’s photos taken on March 13 and March 20, 2019. Using a Mylar filter, Alberto shows us the many minor moons in Nibiru’s tail, clearly delineated when the tail wafts in front of the Sun, between the Earth and Sun. Alberto has also noted that the trash in Nibiru’s tail seems to be rotating clockwise around the Sun, in the retrograde rotation of Nibiru.

To reinforce the topic of Marshall’s most recent article:

Very bright meteor fireball fragments over Krasnoyarsk, Russia - Third such event in four months

https://www.sott.net/article/410662-Very-bright-meteor-fireball-fragments-over-Krasnoyarsk-Russia-Third-such-event-in-four-months

Bright and noisy with a long, sparkling green and yellow tail, it was filmed by multiple observers in Krasnoyarsk region.

The phenomenon caused fear on the ground.

'I panicked as it sounded and looked like a plane on fire, I got really scared of the noise and shine it created', said a local woman from Krasnoyarsk, the large industrial city.

'I pulled a phone out of a pocket, but it flew across the sky so fast that I only caught a long white trace it left.'

Some residents said the meteor was blindingly bright, akin to the light and sparks created during intense welding work.

It split into several parts before disappearing in the sky somewhere over Irkutsk region, east of Krasnoyarsk.

The local ministry of emergencies confirmed it registered a meteor, and said that it didn't pose a threat to people or infrastructure.

It is the third major meteor or meteorite event in four months.

On 15 March a meteorite slammed into Krasnoyarsk region with local reports saying it 'warmed the air' and 'shook the ground' after streaking across the sky in a green, yellow and orange fireball.

This came down close to the site of the Tunguska Event in 1911 when a meteor exploded in the atmosphere wiping out 80 million trees, and with the estimated force of 185 Hiroshima bombs.

Expert Viktor Grokhovsky from Ural Federal University, studied the videos of the 6 April event and concluded that the recent space guest was a bolide.

'It exploded quite high in the sky somewhere over Irkutsk region,' he concluded.

'It was a bolide that moved with a speed higher than the New Tunguska meteorite (LINK) from Evenkia.

'Its structure must have been quite loose given that it split into fragments.'

The latest meteor incursion was spotted by dash cams and eye witnesses around 7 pm on 6 April.
