That issue of Zetatalk did have great graphics, and it makes sense that we can discern which asteroids are part of the debris tail by noting which direction they came from.

Here is another one ..

Asteroid the size of a house will come closer to the Earth than the moon when it hurtles past at 19,000 miles per hour tomorrow  ???

The colossal chunk of space rock spanning 62ft (19m) has been named 2019 SP3
NASA describes the close proximity of this space rock as 'potentially hazardous'
It will come closer to Earth than the moon, which is about 239,000 miles away

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencetech/article-7529227/Asteroid-size-house-come-closer-Earth-moon-tomorrow.html

A house-sized asteroid will swing past the Earth tomorrow at a distance so close it is classified as 'potentially hazardous'.

The colossal chunk of space rock spanning 62ft (19m) has been named 2019 SP3 and will be shoot past the planet at more than 19,000 miles per hour.

NASA describes the close proximity of this space rock as 'potentially hazardous', even though it will only pass within about 230,000 miles (370,000km) of our planet's surface.

This means it will be closer than the moon, which is about 239,000 miles (384,000km) away.

Huge Fireball Changes Night Into Day Over Northeast China  ???

https://strangesounds.org/2019/10/fireball-turns-night-into-day-video-china.html

A huge fireball meteor lit up the sky over northeast China on Friday (Oct. 11).
The disintegration was so powerful that it turned night into day across a wide area.

Incoming! Five asteroids flew past Earth Friday - one twice as big as Empire State Building

https://www.sott.net/article/422722-Incoming-Five-asteroids-flew-past-Earth-Friday-one-twice-as-big-as-Empire-State-Building

Five asteroids will skim past Earth today and one of them is bigger than the tallest building in the world.

Asteroid 1998 HL1 is so big that some astronomers think it will be possible to see from Earth.

The Virtual Telescope Project will be live streaming the colossal asteroid's flypast, which you'll be able to watch on YouTube from 6pm BST.

Astronomer Gian Masi wrote under the video: "The Potentially Hazardous Asteroid (162082) 1998 HL1 will have a close, but safe, encounter with us, coming at about 6.2 millions of km from the Earth.

"The Virtual Telescope Project will show it to you live, online: join from your home!"

Asteroid 1998 HL1 is estimated to have a diameter of up to 3248 feet, making it taller than the Burj Khalifa.

The asteroid is expected to make its closest approach to Earth at 6:21pm BST.

I guess there's no doubt at this point that we're in the debris field... :-X

0.014 LD !!!!!  :o

Halloween surprise! Asteroid narrowly missed Earth yesterday - Discovered as it flew by - Closest on record!!!

https://www.sott.net/article/423038-Halloween-surprise-Asteroid-narrowly-missed-Earth-yesterday-Discovered-as-it-flew-by-Closest-on-record

According to data from these early observations, the asteroid came closer to the surface of our planet (without actually colliding with our atmosphere) than any other close approach in NASA's database of known near-Earth objects.  :o

Even space rocks are supplying jump scares on Halloween, just like your favorite horror flick.

A near-Earth asteroid currently identified as C0PPEV1 was spotted in the early morning hours Thursday by the Catalina Sky Survey, based in Arizona, and shortly thereafter by New Mexico's Magdalena Ridge Observatory and Arizona's Mt. Lemmon Steward Observatory

According to data from these early observations, the asteroid came closer to the surface of our planet (without actually colliding with our atmosphere) than any other close approach in NASA's database of known near-Earth objects.

Simulations show the asteroid passing above southern Africa within 3,852 miles (6,200 km) at the moment of closest approach, around 7:45 a.m. PT. To get an idea of how close this is, consider that many telecommunications satellites orbit at an altitude of 22,236 miles (35,786 km).

The moon varies a bit in its distance from us, but 238,900 miles is from the most recent search, so 0.01 of that = 2,389 miles.  A LD of 0.016 would be a bit closer, as that would be about 3,822 miles, which is really close to 3852 miles, the distance it is said to have passed over southern Africa.
