GEOMAGNETIC STORM PREDICTED: NOAA forecasters say there is a 70% chance of minor G1-class geomagnetic storms on Dec. 1st and 2nd when a stream of solar wind hits Earth's magnetic field. The gaseous material is flowing from a large hole in the sun's atmosphere. This is a long-lasting hole that has lashed Earth with solar wind about once a month since July. The last time it happened on Nov. 4th, auroras were sighted in US states including Wyoming, Montana, Iowa, Washington, North Dakota and, of course, Alaska. It could happen again this weekend. Yowbarb Note: G1 now in effect, more could be on the way on the 5th.

SPOTLESS SUN HURLS A CME TOWARD EARTH: Yesterday, Nov. 30th, a filament of magnetism in the sun's southern hemisphere erupted, hurling a CME into space. NOAA analysts say the expanding cloud has an Earth-directed component. The slow-moving CME could deliver a glancing blow to our planet's magnetic field on Dec. 5th, possibly sparking polar geomagnetic storms

WEEKEND GEOMAGNETIC UNREST: For the next few days, Earth is expected to skim through a number of minor solar wind streams associated with a southern hole in the sun's atmosphere. This will likely stir magnetic unrest around Earth's poles, albeit not full-fledged geomagnetic storms. Intermittent Arctic auroras are possible this weekend.

LONG RANGE FORECAST: Geomagnetic activity should remain low for the next week as Earth passes through a "slow zone" between two streams of solar wind. G1-class geomagnetic storms are possible on Feb. 19th when the solar wind speed picks up again. The gaseous material is coming from a long-lasting hole in the sun's atmosphere, due to return a week hence

Yowbarb Note: A G1 (Minor) Geomagnetic Storm is predicted in the coming 24 hours.
...

CHANCE OF STORMS ON MONDAY: NOAA forecasters say there is a 55% chance of G1-class geomagnetic storms on March 11th when Earth has a close encounter with two coronal mass ejections (CMEs). The solar storm clouds left the sun on March 8th when sunspot AR2734 produced a C1-class solar flare. Neither CME is heading directly for Earth, but a double glancing blow could produce beautiful Arctic auroras.

AG1 storm (Minor) was observed today/http://www.spaceweather.com/

A VERY SLOW-MOVING CME: On Mar. 12th, the Solar and Heliospheric Observatory detected a faint coronal mass ejection (CME) slowly billowing away from the sun. Five days later, the storm cloud may be approaching Earth. How slow is it? Slower than the surrounding solar wind. In fact, the solar wind may be dragging the CME toward us. The impact of this leisurely CME could occur on Mar. 17th adding its effect to the geomagnetic storms already underway. See below! Aurora Alerts: SMS text, email.

Does anyone know if a CME would affect Schumann Resonance, and how?

Not really, but let's think.

The only way to change the various resonant frequencies is to raise or lower the ionosphere.  However, the power of the multiple electromagnetic frequencies that are ricocheting between the ionosphere and the surface of the Earth does vary.

So, the Sun shoots a CME at Earth, and we have a flux of ions striking the magnetosphere.

Hmm.  I expect that some electromagnetic frequencies would be generated.  So, the power level in some of the Schumann frequencies could be increased as some of those generated EMFs ricochet around the Earth.

But would the ionosphere be displaced?  Well possibly locally and temporarily if the CME is very strong, but otherwise not.

Wasn't that one of HAARP's functions--to raise or lower the ionosphere?  At one point "they" spread the word that HAARP was not functioning much anymore, but it's hard for me to swallow that one.

In addition, there are other "HAARP" facilities on earth, under different names...

G2:

http://www.spaceweather.com/

GEOMAGNETIC STORM WARNING: NOAA forecasters say that moderate G2-class geomagnetic storms are possible on March 23rd when a coronal mass ejection (CME) is expected to hit Earth's magnetic field. The solar storm cloud was hurled in our direction by an explosion in the magnetic canopy of sunspot AR2736 on March 20th. During G2-class storms, auroras may be seen in northern-tier US states as far south as New York and Idaho.
