Earthquake West Coast, South Africa - Paternoster Area (08 December 2011 21h25 SAST)

People in the Paternoster Area of the Cape have confirmed what they believe was an earthtremor maybe between 2-3 Magnitude "but it is however a great pity that the South African public are deprived from free earthquake information. Unfortunately this information is not freely available to the public anymore after the Council for Geoscience South Africa decided to remove this information from their web-pages." SAWDIS

As per comments on SAWDIS webpage tremor felt at St Helena bay which is close to Koeberg Nuclear Power Station.
Dr Chris Hartnady, Technical Director of Umvoto was quoted last year in a article in the UK Daily Express that Southern Africa should expect quakes. "Yet a major earthquake disaster in the region is inevitable because wide areas of southern Africa are affected by the slow southward spread of the East African rift system. It is not a question of if, but when."

Inselemel thanks for that update. Wow that is odd the earthquake information for the people would be taken off the pages...

Yes very odd i think though not sure that that sort of info was taken from public viewing a wee while ago makes you think whether it might me be manmade tremor  (fracking etc) nothing surprises me anymore on how low governments around the world will go.
