Yowbarb Note: This new innovation of a portable self sustaining weather - predicting home will not be for sale until 2016. From Slovakian group Nice Architects. More photos on page. No reason to think this would survive a planet X flyby but if a person owned some of these they could be aftertimes housing.

Well, it might survive a flyby... Don't perch one on the edge of a hill...

It looks intriguing, but its shape is really conducive to being literally blown away.  Friends told me once about their camping trip during which they were returning from a hike, only to see their dome-shaped tent (anchored by tent stakes initially) rolling across a field, just like a tumbleweed.

I know a tent is rather light weight, but shape is important in wind resistance, and a dome shape has lots of merit, but this interesting little module looks too much like an egg in shape.  Unless it would be seriously and deeply anchored in place, I'd feel unsafe in high winds, even without tornadoes or hurricanes.

I imagine it is a lot heavier than a tent but not heavy enough. I thought of that too, how an anchoring mechanism would be a good idea. Something build in.
