How can a mire Tropical Storm cause this? Yes the storms have lots of rain, but this actually looks like an old volcano that they built the street over. :o :o

It looks like a large bored hole, like it was done with machinery. That's how it struck me, because the hole narrows down completely smooth. The pic is a aerial view, I just wonder if there were old caverns or buildings underground from ancient civilizations and the weight of the current buildings along with the shifting grounds eventually opened it up. Just my opinion, or a thought on the subject.

Here's a picture of the sink hole in Florida. Scary, you never know when the ground is gonna give way. More evidence that the earth is shifting.

The original post was from Lori with a link to a video, but here is a page and info

This morning, Tampa resident Sandy Burnham lost her 1995 Toyota Camry to a sinkhole that opened up beneath her parking space in Bordeaux Village Condominium complex. Watch her tell the harrowing story below.

Sandy, who says she doesn't know whether to "cry or laugh," has since evacuated from her home, along with 13 other residents of the complex. Here's a local news report featuring a reporter who is a dead ringer for actor Richard Burgi.

What part of Florida and which highway did the car sink?

Hi Mynymn
Tampa - as you probably know is over halfway down the west Florida coast near the 275.
Hope this image posts:

The media seems unconcerned by sinkholes in general, but Florida had to jack up insurance premiums because claims doubled in 5 years from 2005 to 2010. Its not just in the US either, Israel is reporting a lot of sinkholes around the Dead Sea for example.

We've had 12 heat bursts in the past 8 years, 6 in the 95 years prior by comparison. A heat burst is a sudden unexplained spike in temperature which temps rise up to 20 degrees in as little as 20 minutes.
