I wonder if we all should be shielding our eyes while on line?

What specific eye shades do you recommend?

Am fairly ignorant about the details or specifics, but keep hearing and reading about protecting our eyes from the blue light or blue screens of computers, iPads, etc., etc., but I wonder what exactly the frequencies in the blue range do to our retinas at the molecular or atomic level?  Blue is much closer in the spectrum to UV than it is to the longer waves of infrared, so there may be more than one problem (blue light) with staring at the computer screen.

Whatever they "rays from the screens" do is probably not natural and probably not to our benefit.  So I am using some very old sunglasses that are made of actual glass and they are quite heavy, with glass lens and metal frames.  But they are polarizing lens (I think) and know they really protect my eyes from the sun.  Here's how I know:

Several years ago I had to do a bit of driving and noticed every single time I would wear these sunglasses while driving, I had to remove them after a short while because they made me so sleepy.  Not all sunglasses do but these do.  So I figured they really are fooling my eyes and brain into thinking it's night time, and thus I get sleepy as huimans did thousands of years ago, not too long after the sun went down.

Thinking about the retina and how it receives incoming light, and how that retinal tissue is actually part of the central nervous system; it is an extension of the brain.  So it might be wise for us to be thinking of ways to protect ourselves from our possibly-harmful playpretties.  Maybe I'll have hubby take a pic of yours truly hunched over the computer screen looking so cool and stylish!  LOL

Public Service Announcement:

Just wanted to note that sometimes I like to listen to younger members of the truth-seeking community on Youtube, and that I'd like to correct a potentially dangerous conclusion made by two of them recently (whom I won't name):

They were discussing how sick they sometimes get from energy drinks, and had scanned the ingredients and decided, apparently without researching the issue, that the added amino acid taurine was to blame.

This is a gross leap to conclusions.

A safer bet is that taurine is added to oppose excitotoxins which by definition comprise the drink in order to produce that "jolt."  It may even prevent the sudden death that energy drinks are sometimes known for causing.

More info about taurine is located here on the boards:

Wishing well-being to our younger members, who are the future of the truth community.

Here's a recipe and tutorial for tamale pie for meat lovers and those who love Tex-Mex:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qplR-YpyY5A

It can either be made with pastured ground beef, ground chuck, or slow-cooked pulled pork:

1.5 to 2# either pulled pork, or beef browned in a buttered skillet

Add a large can of crushed tomatoes with taco seasonings, or use chili sauce.

She highly recommends including cumin in the mix.

Add either diced chili peppers or jalapenos

In a large mixing bowl, put 2c organic Bob's Red Mill or other brand of pure masa harina, not a masa mix.

Mix a teaspoon of baking powder and a teaspoon of salt with the masa.

Mix in either a stick of melted butter or 1/2 cup of lard.

Take a container with 1 and 1/2 cups of chicken stock, and pour a little bit at a time into the masa, stirring as you go, until the consistency is like mashed potatoes.  All of the stock may not be needed.  If the mixture becomes too thin, more dry masa can be added.

Either use the cast iron skillet that the beef was browned in, if any, or butter a 9 x 13" baking pan.  Add meat sauce to the bottom, unless it's already on the bottom of the skillet.  Top with shredded cheese.  Drop large oiled spoonfuls of masa on top of the cheese, and spread together thinly.  Cook in 350oF oven for 30 minutes, or until golden brown on top.

Serve with tossed salad or guacamole.

This might be a nice way to use up leftover holiday brisket or roast pork  :)

Hmmm, wonder if they noticed the "twice the caffeine" clearly visible in the photo.  Even regular colas have enough caffeine to keep me up 1/2 the night, so imagine what twice that amount would do....heart attack?  Panic attack?  Atrial fibrillation?
