A tour helicopter fell from the sky in a streaking fireball on Monday in Hawaii, landing in the middle of a residential neighborhood and killing all on board.  A resident who witnessed the event said the craft had made a strange noise over his house before crashing to pieces on the ground.  Neighbors used garden hoses to put out the fire.

An armed F-16 fighter jet crashed into a commercial warehouse yesterday in Riverside, California, seriously injuring one worker and sending a dozen others to the hospital.

Witnesses saw the jet roll over in mid air before losing engine power and going through the warehouse roof.

Still another plane crashed into a residential home late last week in Texas, landing just feet away from a toddler who was watching cartoons inside his parents' home.  It seems as if this is becoming a regular occurrence lately:

Another Cessna had lost radio contact with air traffic control over Florida this past weekend, prompting a routine scramble by National Guard fighter jets.  The Guard pilots witnessed the small craft suddenly take a sharp nosedive and crash in the waters below:

Another small plane crashed in flames in Long Island, New York after engine failure mid-air left it to circle and then nosedive to the ground.

Two people were killed, but a dog managed to escape, and was found by a local farmer:

One wonders how the dog could have survived this.

Yesterday afternoon a helicopter crashed through the roof of a Manhattan sky scraper, eleven minutes after a successful takeoff from a local heliport.

It was raining, but pilots are trained to navigate the weather.   He had radioed that he was in some kind of mechanical trouble.  Witnesses saw the chopper take a nosedive and then correct itself, only to lose control again.

Early analysis of the incident, which destroyed the aircraft and tore a hole in the top of the skyscraper, has raised questions about whether the lifelong pilot was suddenly forced to detour over the city's skyscrapers, a move which normally would have required permission from air traffic controllers in any situation but an emergency landing.  It has been noted that crash-landing into the building instead of street traffic likely saved numerous lives, so that the pilot may have intentionally chosen the least devastating means of crashing.

Area residents were left shaken by the crash, which brought back painful memories of 2001.

Two small planes crashed in the greater Los Angeles area on Saturday.  One experienced engine failure just a few hundred feet away from an airport runway, and crash-landed into a nearby parking lot.  The three occupants survived.

The other plane crash, located in the St. Susana Mountains, was fatal.

This comes at a time when explosions have been occurring beneath the city, and smoke rising up through manhole covers, which Dr. Claudia Albers attributes to an orb of some kind directly over the city at the moment:

Evolutionary Energy Arts is also keeping abreast of aircraft failures, and noted that a Delta airlines flight from Georgia to Maryland experienced engine failure in mid-air yesterday and made a forced landing in Raleigh.  Passengers describe hearing an explosion, and someone on board filmed a red-hot glowing engine with a large loose part rattling around inside of it while in-flight:

Quote
"After we heard the boom, we just saw all this smoke come up into the cabin and that's when we really started freaking out. ... It started slowing down a little bit and it was getting hot. The air cut off," passenger Avery Porch told WMAR-TV. "I was about to be the first person to jump off."

Quote
"Ladies and gentlemen...Fasten your seat belts, loosen your collars, remove ties, scarves and eyeglasses," a flight attendant could be heard telling passengers.
