Earthquakes General - 2019
« on: December 31, 2018, 05:13:51 PM »
Oops!  Not the day and time shown above.  Actually 1/Jan/19 at 1:51 pm EST.

=================================
USGS and EMSC do not agree. Reporting data from both.
Earthquake totals in last 24 hours according to:

http://earthquake.usgs.gov/earthquakes/map/
29 'quakes of magnitude >2.4 ⋅ Total mags = 114.4 ⋅ Avg mag = 3.95 (*)

http://www.emsc-csem.org/Earthquake/?filter=yes
73 'quakes of magnitude >2.4 ⋅ Total mags = 275.5 ⋅ Avg mag = 3.77

(*) magnitude >2.4 in USA, and >4.4 elsewhere. (>2.4 worldwide not available)
------------------------

Three strongest 'quakes from either site:
*  Mag. 5.1  north of Tonga and east of Fiji (both sites).
*  Mag. 5.0  in mid-south mid-west North Atlantic Ocean,  opp. Dominica in the Caribbean Sea (both sites).
*  Mag. 5.0  on mid-east south coast of Alaska (USGS.  EMSC: 4.9).

Largest groups of multiple 'quakes from either site:
*  15  in Indonesia (Papua, mid-east, central, mid-west, and west): Papua east mid-north; mid-east north and mid-north and central; central south; and west north and mid-north and south (EMSC.  USGS: 3).
*  8  in Alaska; east north, on and off the south coast mid-east to mid-west, and upper peninsula west coast (USGS.  EMSC: 5).
*  8  in Chile; north to central, and nearby in Argentina and Bolivia (EMSC.  USGS: 0).
*  6  in Greece; off the west coast mid-south, and south and north of Crete (EMSC.  USGS: 2).
*  5  in Turkey; west incl. nearby islands, and east (EMSC.  USGS: 1).
*  5  in Mexico; inland and offshore of west coast south and mid-south (EMSC.  USGS: 0).
*  4  around Puerto Rico; W, NW, and NE (USGS.  EMSC: 3).

*  3  in and/or around each of: ⋅ southern Philippines ⋅ (at least one source site each).
-------

From USGS (all 'quakes, separate data capture, see notes):

71  'quakes of all magnitudes in California and Nevada (max mag. = 2.5).
*  38  'quakes of all magnitudes in Alaska (max mag. = 5.0).
*  10  'quakes of all magnitudes in Puerto Rico region (max mag. = 3.4).

*  Strong 'quakes (mag. > 2.4) in California (USA);  and in Alaska (9 Qs), and Puerto Rico region (5 Qs).

*  Little shakers (mag. 1.0 ~ 2.4) in Idaho, western Montana (3 Qs), California, Nevada, and SE Missouri (USA);  and in Alaska region (28 Qs), Hawaii (3 Qs), and Puerto Rico (5 Qs).

*  45 little shakers in California and Nevada. (All-magnitude clusters in California: SE of Los Angeles and nearby.)

*  No 'quakes of any magnitude in Yellowstone Park (NW Wyoming plus strips of Montana and Idaho).
+  1 'quake of all magnitudes near to New Madrid, SE Missouri (mag. = 1.8).

Notes: Quarry blasts and explosions are excluded from above lists and totals, except where otherwise indicated.
USGS lists some sites near borders as near locations across the border (worldwide).
Earthquake counts less than 3 are not reported, except where otherwise indicated.
The later data capture for this sub-section causes some inconsistencies with the earlier data set.
----------------------------

From EMSC (two separate data captures):
33 earthquakes of magnitude >1.9 in last 24 hours in Euro-Med region, according to http://www.emsc-csem.org/Earthquake/Map/zoom.php?key=1&typ=world#2  (approx. 9 only in Greece, and 9 only in Turkey).

USGS and EMSC do not agree. Reporting data from both.
Earthquake totals in last 24 hours according to:

http://earthquake.usgs.gov/earthquakes/map/
38 'quakes of magnitude >2.4 ⋅ Total mags = 139.4 ⋅ Avg mag = 3.67 (*)

http://www.emsc-csem.org/Earthquake/?filter=yes
69 'quakes of magnitude >2.4 ⋅ Total mags = 259.1 ⋅ Avg mag = 3.76

(*) magnitude >2.4 in USA, and >4.4 elsewhere. (>2.4 worldwide not available)
------------------------

Three strongest 'quakes from either site (plus three):
*  Mag. 5.2  in west central Indonesia (USGS.  EMSC: 5.0).
*  Mag. 5.1  on the north coast mid-east of Papua Indonesia (EMSC.  USGS: 5.0).
*  Mag. 5.0  in mid-east south Indonesia (both sites).
*  Mag. 5.0  in central south Mongolia (both sites).
*  Mag. 5.0  off the east coast of Alaska upper peninsula (EMSC.  USGS: 4.8).
*  Mag. 5.0  in west south Indonesia (USGS.  EMSC: 4.5 at same time but sightly different location and depth).

Note re. last 'quake above:  EMSC has two 'quakes close to the location and time given by USGS for its' one 'quake.  Perhaps different interpretations of a continuous grind.

Largest groups of multiple 'quakes from either site:
*  16  in Indonesia (Papua, mid-east, central, mid-west, and west):  Papua east north;  mid-east north and mid-north and south; central south; mid-west south;  and west north and mid-south and south (EMSC.  USGS: 6).
*  11  in Alaska; central mid-south to mid-east south, south coast central, and upper peninsula off east coast (USGS.  EMSC: 7).
*  9 in and around Puerto Rico; north, W, N, and NE (USGS.  EMSC: 5).
*  8  in Chile; north, mid-north, and nearby in Argentina (EMSC.  USGS: 0).
*  7  in Greece; off the west coast mid-south, and south of Crete (EMSC.  USGS: 0).
*  5  in Mexico; inland and offshore of the west coast south and mid-south (EMSC.  USGS: 1).

*  3  in and/or around each of: ⋅ California USA,  and south of Philippines ⋅ (at least one source site each).

Here is a map of 'quakes per EMSC in Philippines, Indonesia, and Australia for January 1 and 2 to 10 AM EST.  Note the faint line in Western Australia.

Boom, Boom, Boom! M6.1, M6.8 and M6.6 earthquakes hit Alaska, Brazil and Indonesia within 24 hours!!

http://strangesounds.org/2019/01/boom-boom-boom-m6-1-m6-8-and-m6-6-earthquakes-hit-alaska-brazil-and-indonesia-within-24-hours.html

Lots of pressure has been released within the last 24 hours around the world. This series of strong quakes has all started with a M6.1 tremor near Tanaga Volcano, Alaska (2019-01-05 18:47:10 (UTC)) and was followed 1 hour later by a M6.8 earthquake in remote Brazil (2019-01-05 19:25:38 (UTC)). About two hours ago (2019-01-06 17:27:20 (UTC)), a powerful M6.6 hit Indonesia.

M6.1 earthquake Alaska – January 5, 2019

A magnitude 6.1 earthquake hit around 80 miles southwest of Adak just before 10:00 a.m. The Alaska Earthquake Center says the earthquake struck in the same area as a magnitude 6.5 earthquake Aug. 15 and a 6.3 magnitude earthquake Aug. 23.

M6.8 earthquake Brazil – January 5, 2019

A powerful earthquake has shaken northwestern Brazil near its border with Peru.

M6.8 earthquake hits off Indonesia

A M6.6 earthquake hit 151km WNW of Tobelo, Indonesia, 2019-01-06 17:27:20 (UTC) at a depth of 60km (37 miles

In a post-global disaster world, predators and tyrants will have the best two-way radios, and they'll use them to surveil you at a comfortable distance.

What will you have? Signal flares and red bandannas?

If so, when you least expect it, the predators and tyrants will come to take a spoil and they will torture, rape, and kill without mercy.

This is why Radio Free Earth authors Marshall Masters and Duane W. Brayton have an urgent message for everyone with a serious interest in preparedness. That being, analog RF (radio frequency) is the heartbeat of freedom. Accept no substitutes.

Watch our free videos to learn how to stay safe and free with an affordable strategy for two way communication, both near and far.
