This one was featured in Country Living magazine:

The only concern is whether comfort is sacrificed for beauty in the interior.  Would a grown man be able to stretch out and get a little messy here in his own personal non-designer space, for example?  Isn't that what we call "home?"

Here's a sweet cabin with almost 500 square feet for under $35,000 on Amazon (but the fine print in the Q and A says appliances, etc. are not included in the price):

Every one of them is irresistible!  No matter how small, they still appear quite comfortable.

Here's a tiny home built out of two stacked shipping containers, with a wonderful upper-level deck extending off of the bedroom:

Here's an old salvaged railway car transformed into a home.  Kind of reminds me of The Boxcar Children.  The open loft atrium makes it anything but claustrophobic, and the art deco bathroom is exquisite.  Cost was under $30,000:

This one in New Mexico, very back-to-nature-feeling, is part-cabin and part-tent, and provides a magical place for the family's children to grow up:

This one may be too small for long-term living for a whole family, but what a great getaway in a pinch, and difficult for others to reach easily:

Too cute!  Looks so cozy, but agree it might be a bit too tiny for more than a day, or more than 1 or 2 people.  But could it be made taller and have a loft?   But maybe that wouild look more like a lighthouse!

Here's another modified tent-style home, built on a private island in Scandinavia:

Gorgeous setting but interestingly he did comment on the loneliness at times.  OTOH, he does go to town 1-2X/week, so that affords him a bit of socializing.

I noticed that he had set a limit for himself of one year in isolation in that spot, and then he planned to move around a bit, which could entail meeting more people.
