Title: Crustal or Lithospheric Pole Shift Only
Post by: R.R. Book on February 05, 2019, 01:58:39 PM
There are numerous pole shift topics on the boards, but this thread will separate out the magnetic pole shift or polar wander discussions and focus exclusively upon crustal or lithospheric movement.

Will begin by posting an article and brief video from Mary Greeley News today which makes a statement about the late 2018 7.5 magnitude quake which led to the deadly tsunami in Indonesia:

This was no normal quake.  It was a rare "supershear" that forced a tectonic plate to move horizontally at 9,200 miles per hour, involving everything from the crustal surface to three miles below.  There was also no gradual increase in speed - it occurred at maximum speed from the very beginning and completely defied bends in the faultline, causing me to wonder what might have been orbiting directly above?

Ben Davidson talked about how fast the quake was on the SO evening news today:

That segment was around 1:45.  Thanks so much for adding the link and screenshots Max!

These faster-than-usual quakes are new to me, and it would be bad enough to be in "a" quake, but one of these supershear, etc., type quakes could change everything for those near ground zero or in the path.

A neighbor, now deceased, told me that years ago when she was much younger, that she was standing on a little footbridge across their creek, when she watched the "ripple" of earth that moved just like a wave of soil across the fields and under their farm and onward.  She said it reminded her of a wave on the ocean, but it was on earth/soil.  No doubt that was a "regular" earthquake.

Oppenheimer Ranch Project posted a video last night with an interesting 3-D motion model of how the crustal pole shift might play out, as a follow-up to Chan Thomas' Adam and Eve Story:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ImysQ_-Hehw approximately from 7:16-9:33

Interestingly from the model, not only might both the Arctic and Antarctica hypothetically end up within the Tropics, but so would North and South America, to some extent.

Not clear who created the computer simulation, but I found a copy of it here:

My clip of it was taken from the last half:

That is partially compatible with zetatalk.com's version, which shows the new equator going thru  the Bering Strait, Antarctica, and the west coast of Africa.
From "Aftertime Grid - Lat/Long Lines"   at https://www.zetatalk.com/lat-long.htm

Can anyone find an animation of that for the whole globe?

Also  [ATTACHMENT Mar8-2019_ZetaMapAfterPoleShift.jpg] which I saved years ago but can't find in zetatalk.com now.

Note:  none of those maps take the expansion of the Atlantic and the compression of the Pacific into account.

Notice also that the Zeta's version puts the new north pole off the bulge of Brazil, not in Africa.  That is their original version, which I used for my calculations and maps years ago.

Thanks for all of the images Jim!  I hadn't seen that newest map before.

I found this set of animations too:
