CO-ROTATING INTERACTION REGION: Later today, Nov. 14th, a co-rotating interaction region (CIR) might hit Earth. CIRs are transition zones between slow- and fast-moving solar wind streams. They contain plasma density gradients and intense magnetic fields that often do a good job sparking auroras. NOAA forecasters say that G1-class geomagnetic storms are possible on Nov. 14-15 after the CIR arrives

GEOMAGNETIC STORM PREDICTED: NOAA forecasters say there is a 45% chance of G1-class geomagnetic storms on Jan. 13th when a co-rotating interaction region (CIR) hits Earth's magnetic field. CIRs are transition zones between slow- and fast-moving solar wind streams. They contain shock-like density gradients and enhanced magnetic fields that can do a good job sparking polar auroras

GEOMAGNETIC OUTLOOK: Earth's magnetic field is expected to be mostly undisturbed for the first three days of March. Geomagnetic activity might increase, however, on March 4th when solar wind flowing from a northern hole in the sun's atmosphere grazes our planet. Arctic sky watchers should be alert for auroras at that time. Free: Aurora Alerts

Hope everyone has their generators ready!!

Massive X-Class Solar Storm To Slam Earth Tomorrow, Could Knockout Satellites, Power  :o

https://www.zerohedge.com/news/2018-03-13/massive-x-class-solar-storm-slam-earth-tomorrow-could-knockout-satellites-power

A solar storm caused by an X-Class solar flare facing directly towards earth is likely to hit tomorrow. The brunt of the activity will be in the higher latitudes, however the aurora it generates could result in Northern Lights as far south as Michigan and Maine, as well as parts of Scotland and Northern England.

he X-class flare was the first of two, according to NASA. It is the largest in 2018, as well as one of the largest in the sun's current cycle known as the solar minimum which began in 2007. The arrival of the storm could leave commercial flights and GPS systems vulnerable to disruption - however the storm is currently considered a G-1, or "minor geomagnetic storm," which could become more serious depending on how the charged particles hit the earth.

GEOMAGNETIC STORM PREDICTED: NOAA analysts predict a G1-class geomagnetic storm on July 24th when a stream of solar wind is expected to hit Earth's magnetic field. The gaseous material is flowing from a large hole in the sun's atmosphere. High-latitude sky watchers should be alert for auroras.

Chart detailing consequences to humans from geomagnetic storms at each level of intensity.  The lower the KP Index, the more psychic humans become, per those who study remote viewing (i.e. magnetic shields up=privacy, magnetic shields down=no privacy).  Both a very low and a very high KP Index can have cardiovascular consequences:

The magnetosphere is normally at its weakest (not counting due to causes such as Px), near the equinoxes, and strongest near the solstices.  This means the sun has a stronger rope-like connection with the earth during the equinoxes because our shields are down.

Between the Autumnal Equinox and the end of October is the best opportunity for viewing auroras, as a result.
